A few months ago, the incredible team at Kevin Wilson Master Builders very kindly introduced us to one of their clients who were in the process of having a full renovation complete on their home for returning to Scotland after living overseas for a number of years. The clients wanted to prepare their home for moving straight back in upon their return and, working alongside Kevin and Pam Wilson, we were able to collaborate to create a space that was the perfect welcome back for the family.

When we were first brought on board for this project, work had begun on stripping out the interior and the house was at mid-renovation point. As always, the process began with an initial consultation with the client to discuss what they wanted to gain from the completed project.

The home was stripped bare when we were initially brought on board. We love working from a blank canvas like this as it gives us so much creative freedom.

The brief was to create a space for the family to enjoy with nods to the plush green jungles of Borneo, where our clients were moving from. So, we made sure to introduce a range of colours, tones, prints and textures with the fabrics and finishes of the interior including light woods, creamy linens and a fabulous jungle wallpaper. The finished result left them with a tranquil haven to relax and unwind in.

It was also important to consider what the finished layout was going to be like when thinking about things like furniture and finishes. The layout was something that continued to develop even after we were first introduced to the project, so it was great to get an insight as well as contribute ideas to help the clients achieve the best version of the space by providing a layout that flowed organically whilst also still including items that were important to them.

Our initial design board which was proposed to the clients. Theres often a few changed made at this point in the process however, we stuck with most of the elements proposed and the overall feel was kept the same.

When sourcing furniture items, accessories, fabrics and finishes for the space, we kept in mind the look the client wanted to achieve and kept everything tonal with neutral, earthy colours to keep that natural look. The fixed interior finishes consisted of a lot of light woods, therefore it was important to carry this theme through to what we selected so that everything worked with the existing selections right down to the cushions.

When the day came to fit out this family home, it was all hands on deck to pass this over to the clients in immaculate condition after waiting for so long to have a home to enjoy. Our team worked tirelessly to dress out this beautiful space. We were over the moon to see how delighted the clients were with their newly renovated home which was such a pleasure for us to work on alongside Pam and Kevin Wilson.
